Position Descriptions:

 

President-

The President is to serve as the face of the Fraternity. The President is responsible for communication outside of the organization. They are responsible for communications with national headquarters as well as the University. The President is to chair the full Colony meetings, to serve as the Speaker of the Meetings. The President must attend 1 Committee meeting per semester. Those reporting to the President are the Executive and Internal Vice Presidents.

 

Executive Vice President-

The Executive Vice President is responsible for the oversight and function of the Colony Executive Board. They are to work and consult with the elected officers and serve as an alternate in the case of absence of a position. The Executive Vice President is responsible for the smooth operation of elected officers and oversight of Committees in the Fraternity. Those that report to the Executive Vice President are members who sit on the E-Board.

 

Internal Vice President-

The Internal Vice President oversees all other appointed officer positions. The Internal Vice President is to Chair the General Council meeting. The Internal Vice President is responsible for the day to day operations of the appointed officer positions and to serve as an alternate for vacant positions. The Internal Vice President submits a weekly report to the Executive Vice President. Those that report to the Internal Vice President are all appointed officer positions.

Phikeia Educator-

The Phikeia Educator is responsible for the creation and teaching of the Phikeia Education class. The Educator is to chair the Education Committee. The Educator is the face of the organization to new and upcoming Phikeia, they are responsible for the distribution of manuals and pins. They are to run the Big-Little program when and if applicable to the current standing Colony. The Educator reports the Executive Vice President.

 

Treasurer-

The Treasurer is responsible for the budgeting and reporting of fraternity dollars. The Treasurer is to make and submit a budget for every semester to be approved by the colony, no later than 3 weeks before the end of the current semester period. The Treasurer serves as the chair of the Finance Committee, the Finance Committee is responsible for fundraising activities for the fraternity. The Treasurer is responsible for the collections of due monies and to be knowledgeable of fiscal bylaws. The Treasurer reports to the Executive Vice President.

 

Warden and Bylaws Chair-

The Warden is responsible for the creation and review of the Colonies bylaws. They are to be knowledgeable and proficient in the bylaws of the organization. The Warden is responsible for the orderly function of the Colony meetings. The Warden serves as the Chair of the Judicial Committee, and the Bylaws committee. The Warden serves as the disciplinary arm of the organization, and upon necessary circumstances is responsible for assembling and running the Judicial committee. The Warden/Bylaws reports to the Executive Vice President.

 

Secretary-

The Secretary is responsible for the tracking of attendance of the E-Board and Colony meetings. They are to be knowledgeable of the attendance bylaws. They are also responsible for the Colony event calendar and the taking of minutes during both meetings. The Secretary shall make all of these documents available including those that are on the floor of the colony or recently passed. The Secretary reports to the Executive Vice President.

 

Recruitment Chair-

The Recruiter is the face of the organization for potential new members of Phi Delta Theta. They are to plan, facilitate and attend any and all formal or informal recruitment events. Absence at these events will be permitted with the consent of the Executive Vice President and if the Assistant Recruitment chair is present. They are to be knowledgeable about the values and characteristics of the organization. The Recruiter is to abide by and be knowledgeable of all Inter-Fraternity Council Recruitment Bylaws. They are to chair the recruitment committee. They also supervise the Assistant-Recruitment Chair. The Recruiter reports to the Executive Vice President.

 

Assistant Recruitment Chair-

The Assistant Recruitment Chair assist the Recruitment Chair with the tasks delegated.

 

Brotherhood Chair-

The Brotherhood Chair plans events for the brothers pledged within the organization. Although, brotherhood events can be hosted and/or facilitated by any member of the fraternity, the brotherhood chair is responsible to create a big brotherhood event each month.

 

Community Service, Philanthropy Chair-

The Community Service/Philanthropy Chair is responsible for finding and/or facilitating volunteer opportunities for the organization. The Fraternity has a requirement that each members must have completed 15 hours of community service each semester. It is also the task of the Community Service/Philanthropy Chair to record the volunteer hours that members send them by name, date, and hours volunteered.

 

Interfraternity Council Representative-

The President is to serve as the face of the Fraternity. The President is responsible for communication outside of the organization. They are responsible for communications with national headquarters as well as the University. The President is to chair the full Colony meetings, to serve as the Speaker of the Meetings. The President must attend 1 Committee meeting per semester. Those reporting to the President are the Executive and Internal Vice Presidents.

 

Intramural Chair-

The Intramural Chair plans, registers, and manages the chosen intramural the organization wants to play. The Intramural Chair must gather a majority vote of members to register for an intramural. The intramural chair is required to inform participants about the intramural information and play within the games.

 

Public Relations, Webmaster-

The PR/Webmaster Chair is responsible for creating advertisements such as posters/flyers for events, fundraisers, or recruiting. The PR/Webmaster Chair also has access to all Phi Delta Theta’s social media forms, so that he can post online at least once a week.

 

Risk Manager-

The Risk Management Chair is required to fill the risk management forms found on myphideltatheta.com. The Risk Management Chair review events for risk with the National Risk Manager. The Risk Management Chair is also charged with upholding the Phi Delta Theta WI Zeta house rules by supervising the future Head of Household.

 

Scholarship Chair-

The Scholarship Chair is in charge of supervising members academic performances. The holder of this position should have access to the students grades/GPA. It is advised that the Scholarship Chair meets with members who fall below either Greek academic standards or Phi Delta Theta academic standards, and discuss ways to raise their academic performance.

 

Social Chair-

The Social Chair plans events for the brothers pledged within the organization to interact with another recognized organization on campus. The Social Chair is responsible to have at least one social each month.
